A: Foundation cracks are different from surface cracks. Foundation cracks have impeded from the surface to the bottom of the driveway and are a big determinant behind elevation differences. They can also result in the spider-web effect (additional cracks start to appear). A good example would be a crack in your windshield; overtime it will spread across. Furthermore, cracks and heaves affect the elevation of your driveway, which allows the water to settle in dangerous areas, possibly affecting the foundation of your house.
A: Heat causes tar to oxidize, leaving your driveway dry and brittle over time. Tar is the glue that keeps your asphalt malleable and rubber-like, allowing it to expand and contract along with temperature variations without cracking or heaving. Re-paving your driveway would restore it to its maximum elasticity, just make sure to tar-seal it every 3-7 years depending on sun exposure!
A: One Year Full Warranty: This covers in major elevation problems that occur when the asphalt is initially installed, such as water directing towards the foundation, or major puddling of over an inch in depth. Although this occurs very rarely, we want you to feel as safe as possible!
